Not everyone works at a desk. Warehouse staff, hotel housekeeping teams, and people covering large areas need a phone they can carry while staying connected. Linkvil, Fanvil's wireless line, offers cordless phones in three different technologies, and picking the right one comes down to how large an area you need to cover.
Three technologies, three needs
- Wi-Fi: uses the building's existing Wi-Fi network. Practical when Wi-Fi coverage is already good, a fit for offices and hotels. Range is around 20 meters indoors and up to 100 meters outdoors per point.
- DECT: a dedicated cordless-phone technology that stands on its own without loading the Wi-Fi. Range is around 50 meters indoors and up to 300 meters outdoors, good for warehouses or mid-sized offices.
- Wi-Fi HaLow: a long-range technology (802.11ah, sub-1GHz) for very large areas. Outdoor range can reach hundreds of meters to over a kilometer, a fit for factory complexes, mining, or open grounds.
The Linkvil models
- Wi-Fi series (W610W, W611W, W620W, W626W): Wi-Fi 6 handsets with Bluetooth. The W626W is water and dust resistant (IP67) and has an emergency alarm button, a fit for the field.
- DECT series (W610D, W620D, W710D): a DECT system that can be extended with additional base stations for wider coverage.
- Wi-Fi HaLow series (W610H, W620H, W710H): for long-range coverage with seamless roaming, one multi-cell system supporting up to hundreds of handsets.
Features that help in the field
Linkvil handsets are built to take a beating: some survive a 1.8-meter drop, carry a large battery for long shifts, and include a PTT (push-to-talk) key for quick group communication. Certain models like the W626W add an IP67 rating and an emergency button, useful in higher-risk areas.
How to choose quickly
Use a simple rule: if the building's Wi-Fi is strong and the area is not too large, pick the Wi-Fi series. If you want a standalone wireless phone system for a warehouse or mid-sized office, pick DECT. If the area is very large and open like a factory or a mine, Wi-Fi HaLow is the answer.
